We had a morning crew and an afternoon crew. We split off into 4 groups and had rotations of a lesson, music/puppets, crafts, and games. We saw less kids than we were expecting but God still allowed us to teach the Gospel and to have fun with them.

We split our group up into not just 4 groups but also the morning and afternoon teams. So every single student had a couple roles to fill during the day. These are the teaching teams. Our teachers shared the Gospel through acting out the story of the Prodigal Son. They did an amazing job of keeping it interactive, engaging, and Christ focused! Many of these kids were listening intently.

We bounced between wooden animal puzzels and bird houses.

We played various games with the kids to get them moving and they loved every minute of it!

During lunch, our students served food (which was hamburgers that we bought) to the teachers at the school. Our women adult leaders took some time to encourage them with Jen leading them in a devotional on salvation through Psalm 23 and the Romans Road.
We left school around 3pm and headed stright to some home visits. These are homes that our partnering pastor is connected with already. So we spent a lot of time encouraging and praying with families. We passed out some food bags, Bibles, and shared our testimonies, told people about Christ and why we are here in Costa Rica. It was such a delight to hear how God worked in and through our students becuase it was very much a trial by fire as we didn’t really have much time to prepare. We left school and then stopped at the first three houses. I had to quickly come up with teams. There were some awesome stories of our students trusting God in these moments. We will be doing these visits each day this week.

I had the opportunity to engage with some of the core leadership within the partner church. These are believers that the pastor and his wife have discipled over the past several months. They are beginning to learn how to build a culture of discipleship just as we are at WHBC. It was just a fun time!
