Happy July 4th! Today was our fun day!! We started out with breakfast, devos, and then we got ready for the beach!
Now, Pawleys Island has TWO parades that we had to navigate through. With how crowded it was going to be and with roads be closed we decided to walk to the beach. Seems reasonable right…?!
2 miles later…. Jeff finally led them to the beach access!
Lydia and I turned back to get at least one van, park it, and then enjoy the beach. But sadly, there were no parking spaces. So we picked them up in the afternoon.
During beach time, one of their action steps (that they gave themselves) to promote team unity and build relationships was to share their testimonies with each other. The leaders split them into groups and they had to find a time to share.
We went to Georgetown for some shopping, dinner, and fireworks. Sadly, most of the shops were closed for the holiday, but we got some ice cream!
We had our team dinner at a place called SoCo Grille. They offered everything from salads, to burgers, to seafood, to even some southern comfort food like country fried steak.
After dinner, we went straight to the park to watch some fireworks. We made it at the right time because traffic was incredibly light and it was crowded until around 9pm. We had our last Team Time which included Bible study, worship, and a speed round of bead encouragements! (We were losing daylight fast)
Then the firework show began!
We have to pack up the vans, do some last minute cleaning of the sleeping rooms, and grab a quick breakfast. My goal is to be on the road by 7am. I will text the parent group chat when we are leaving. See you all tomorrow night - I know your teens are sad to leave can’t wait to see you and share what God taught them this week! Next week
